RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS
Adults and children (age 7 and older) desiring to consider the Catholic Church are invited to participate in this four-period process in order to learn about the Catholic faith and practices. Each of the periods culminates in a liturgical rite bridging the previous period with the next. The four periods are Inquiry, Catechumenate, Purification and Enlightenment, and Mystagogy. This process is for persons who are not baptized and those previously baptized in another Christian tradition who now desire to become Catholic. * Preparation sessions meet weekly according to mutual scheduling availability. Sacraments of Initiation are usually celebrated at the Easter Vigil Mass.
* Baptized Catholic adults who have not yet been confirmed and desire to receive that Sacrament may participate in this process or in a separate preparation process.
